Mid-April is always a lovely time at Springfield Cottage.  Our residents look forward to being able to sit out and enjoy the sunshine – as they did yesterday!

Here is Peter, a lovely gentleman, blowing out the candles on his birthday cake which was made for him by staff at Springfield Cottage.  Happy Birthday, Peter!

We are all looking forward to the clocks changing next weekend and some lighter evenings.  Even our flowers are starting to bloom in anticipation!

Pancake day was ‘flippin’ great at Springfield with all our residents enjoying a pancake feast with lots of lemon juice and/or fruit.  Perhaps we should have them monthly instead of annually?  

Congratulations to Betty and Peter who recently celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary at Springfield.  They had a beautiful cake and music played in the background whilst we all enjoyed a buffet and toasted the happy couple.

We had a very special Valentine’s Day at Springfield Cottage which included some live entertainment from Boom Music and a three course meal.  As you can see, everyone had a wonderful time.

Our afternoon in virtual reality, Paris…..our residents not only enjoyed the various sights and sounds….they also enjoyed a stop at a cafe to taste some French delicacies accompanied by some magic. Once again the residents thoroughly enjoyed their journey and…

Rocky, is a nine week old puppy and visited us in January.  He proved to be very affectionate as you can see from our photographs.

We had a special visit from Luke, who played the bagpipes for us in celebration of Burn’s Night.  Everyone enjoyed the entertainment and we had a lovely Scottish themed tea of Haggis followed by Scottish shortbread.

We had our first visit from Around the World in 80 Days recently.  Using interactive photos and film clips we enjoyed the olden days of Blackburn and Blackpool cinemas and a visit to London theatres.  We’re looking forward to our…
